MILF (/mɪlf/, como se fosse lido como "milf") é uma sigla que significa "mother I'd like to fuck" (mãe que eu gostaria de foder). Esta abreviação geralmente é usada no inglês coloquial em vez da frase completa. Conota uma mulher mais velha, geralmente com filhos, considerada sexualmente atraente. Um termo relacionado é "cougar", que sugere uma mulher mais velha em busca ativa de um relacionamento sexual com homens mais jovens.

HISTÓRIA

A linguista Laurel A. Sutton afirma que MILF foi um dos nove termos para "mulheres atraentes" coletados de alunos de graduação em uma grande aula de linguística em Berkeley na primavera de 1992. Os usuários típicos seriam "estudantes universitários de East Contra Costa, Califórnia". O termo foi amplamente popularizado pelo filme American Pie (1999), onde o personagem de John Cho (simplesmente creditado como "MILF Guy No. 2") usou o termo para se referir à personagem Jeanine Stifler de Jennifer Coolidge. O roteirista de American Pie, Adam Herz, esclareceu que ele não inventou a frase.

Um artigo de 2007 na revista New York afirmou que as evidências de que o termo havia se tornado popular incluíam "mais de 25.000 canecas e camisetas da marca MILF no Café Press, uma série de livros sobre mães gostosas (The Hot Mom's Handbook, Confessions of a Naughty Mommy, The MILF Anthology), programas de televisão (Desperate Housewives, The Real Housewives of Orange County, o próximo concurso "Hottest Mom in America" e um piloto em desenvolvimento chamado MILF & Cookies) e, claro, um gênero pornô concomitante".

Alguns meios de comunicação consideraram a expressão ofensiva para as mulheres e sugeriram substituí-la por WHIP, cunhado por Bibi Lynch, que significa "women who are hot, intelligent and in their prime" (mulheres que são gostosas, inteligentes e estão no auge).

TERMOS SEMELHANTES

No Reino Unido, O termo "yummy mummy" também é usado junto com MILF. O Oxford English Dictionary define o termo como "uma jovem mãe atraente e estilosa".

Embora ainda não tão difundidas na cultura popular em geral, as formas DILF (de  "dad/daddy I'd like to fuck" (papai/papaizinho que eu gostaria de foder)) ou FILF (de "father I'd like to fuck" (pai que eu gostaria de foder)) são usadas entre andrófilos para se referir a um homem mais velho sexualmente atraente que provavelmente é pai.

Os termos GILF (de "granny I'd like to fuck" (vovó que eu gostaria de foder)) e raposa prateada referem-se a mulheres mais velhas (55+) atraentes e altamente sexuais, independentemente do estado civil.

CULTURA POPULAR

Em 2002, um residente do estado americano de Washington solicitou uma placa personalizada com a inscrição "GOTMILF", uma paródia do slogan publicitário "Got Milk?". Essa placa foi aprovada (o requerente alegou que MILF significava "flutuador de elevação manual em linha"), mas foi posteriormente cancelada após reclamações contra ela.

Em dezembro de 2007, a companhia aérea de baixo custo Spirit Airlines lançou uma campanha publicitária controversa, usando MILFs para promover seus destinos tropicais, com base em uma sigla diferente: "Muitas ilhas, tarifas baixas". Em janeiro de 2009, a Spirit lançou a campanha novamente.

Em 2013, uma empresa de vestuário, a True & Co. , parodiou a frase na publicidade de sua linha de sutiãs , convertendo-a para "Mãe, eu gostaria de caber". A campanha recebeu atenção negativa.

SMILF é uma série de comédia americana estrelada, criada, escrita e dirigida por Frankie Shaw no Showtime. É baseada no curta-metragem de Shaw de mesmo nome. O nome da série, SMILF, é um trocadilho com o termo "MILF", com o "S" representando "solteiro" ou "Southie" (um apelido para South Boston, Massachusetts), ou ambos.

Em 2016, Fergie lançou a música "MILF$" e um vídeo que a acompanha com várias mães famosas.

O filme de comédia francês MILF de 2018 é sobre três amigas de infância que se tornam MILFs, seduzindo três jovens.

PORNOGRAFIA MILF

Pornografia MILF é um gênero de pornografia em que as atrizes geralmente são mulheres de 30 a 60 anos, embora muitas atrizes tenham começado a fazer esse tipo de filme pornográfico aos 25 anos. Central para a narrativa típica de MILF é uma dinâmica de jogo de idade de mulheres mais velhas e amantes mais jovens de qualquer gênero.

Prêmios: Atrizes do gênero pornô MILF têm seus próprios prêmios: o X-Rated Critics Organization "MILF of the Year Award",  o AVN "MILF/Cougar Performer of the Year Award", e o Urban X Award de "Melhor Artista MILF", entre outros. No Japão, o Sky PerfecTV! Adult Broadcasting Awards também tem um prêmio para a "Melhor Atriz Madura".
